Laser tube cutting is the star service of Planes. Materials are cut by means of a light amplified by stimulated emission of electromagnetic radiation. It is commonly used in applications automotive and furniture industry.
This type of tube cutting uses a high power laser computer-driven into the material which needs to be cut. By effect of laser, material either melts, burns, vaporizes, or is destroyed by the effect of a gas stream, leaving a high quality finish on the edge.
The quality finish and the levels of precision of laser cutting machines is far superior to traditional cutting methods such as circular cold saw. Unlike these conventional systems, the laser emission does not wear during the cutting process.
Its precision enables the processing of many forms and details such as holes, as well as the better optimization of the material, not requiring additional operations such as drilling or punching.
On the other hand, the evolution of laser cutting machinery (Fibra) can cut more variety of materials every day, such as aluminum, copper, brass, etc., which were previously reserved to saws.
Service | Materials | Type of cut | Tube dimensions that can cut | Tube wall thickness that can cut | Tolerances | Weight of tube that can handle | Length of finished tube |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Laser | Iron, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, titanium. | Round, square, rectangular, oval, octagonal, elliptical. | Ø 12-154 mm | 0.5-8 mm (iron), 0.5-6 mm (other materials) | ±0,1 mm | 18 kg/m | 1-6.500 mm |
Laser tube cutting is faster than mechanical cutting systems, so that complex parts are ready in seconds.
This type of cutting is also efficient, because it takes the most of the material, with minimal waste.
Because it generates less waste and requires less spare parts it is also more respectful of the environment.
